An abundance of wildlife in its natural habitat (no man-made walkways or viewing platforms) that you are guaranteed to see, combined with very few humans (there is only about 3,500 of us!), and wide open spaces with big blue skies make the Falklands a mecca for keen naturalists and photographers, or for those just looking to get off the beaten track and enjoy a wild and unspoilt environment. |
In terms of wildlife, we are home to more than 227 species of birds, including 70% of the world’s Black-Browed albatross, 4 species of penguin (5 if you strike it lucky) making up about a million in total including the largest population of Gentoo penguins, and one of the rarest birds of prey in the Striated Caracara.
But it’s far from just about the wildlife … you can also enjoy superb trout fishing, excellent walking and hiking, military history from 1982, the travel itself whether it be by plane or off-road, some excellent cuisine and local beers and gin, try your hand at some local arts and crafts, or simply just relax. And it’s all wrapped with good Falklands hospitality. |
Or how about really making memories and a photographic album to cherish by holding your wedding in the Falkland Islands, or celebrating an important anniversary. Let us put together an event to remember! |
